Community Service

Every Whitney High School student must complete 25 hours of
community service to fulfill their graduation requirement.
Submit one community service contract for each volunteer experience
completed to the College and Career Center.

Rock Creek Tutoring Program

After school tutors needed in Math, Reading, and Language Arts at Rock Creek Elementary School. Tutoring runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 – 3:30pm. You will be assisting our 2 teachers in tutoring students (grades K-6) with their work. You will assist them with understanding math concepts on their homework, reading intervention such as reading in small groups, etc… If interested, please contact Claudia Alfaro at and bring the referral form to your first tutoring session.

Summer School Volunteers

Students may earn 75 hours of community service hours by helping in the classroom and supervising elementary students during recess and lunch.  
Summer School from Monday, June 19 to Friday July 15 at Parker Whitney Elementary School.  Please see the flyer for additional information.

Jump Start to College Tutors Needed

Mrs. Hanks is looking for currently sophomores and juniors that would like to earn community service by being a peer tutor during summer school.  This year’s summer school is piloting a program for incoming freshmen called “Jump Start to College” and peer tutors would be very beneficial.  The program runs from June 19th to July 14th from 8:30am – 11:30am and is being held at Rocklin High School.
