MANDATORY senior class meeting which will include information about senior ball and activities. Graduation information will be shared (at school during PAWS). If students do not attend they will miss signing up for graduation row seating (i.e. signing up for the exact location on the field and who you are grouped with). Cap and gowns can still be ordered through Premier Grad Products at http://www.premiergradproducts.com/
Senior Activities Ticket Sales (Senior Picnic and Breakfast)
The Senior Picnic and Breakfast are sold as a combination package. The price is $50 to attend both. Tickets are sold this week ONLY. In order to purchase a ticket you must turn in a completed permission slip which is online at whs.rocklinusd.org under the Activities tab or picked up from the Student Store. Students must have all detentions and library fines cleared in order to purchase. There will be no refunds in the case the senior gets more detentions after the ticket has been purchased, so stay on your best behavior!
Assist-a-Grad & Senior Awards Night (by invitation only)
Senior Semester Grades are Submitted & Eligibility List is Finalized
Any senior wishing to participate in senior week activities must pass all classes required and complete all community service hours for graduation by this date or be considered ineligible for all senior activities. There will not be any refunds for these tickets.
Senior end-of-year rally, checkout process and yearbook distribution to follow. Students bring their gowns for the exit of the gym and into the small gym for the check out and yearbook distribution.
Seniors will be required to be in attendance each day, either with their teachers on campus, in the school cafeteria, or with the senior class at the organized senior class activities. Students can obtain a signed note from their parent(s) allowing them to leave campus in lieu of senior class activities.
Senior Checkout. During this time the seniors will go through the checkout process. You must go through this process to receive your diploma. Detentions and school fines will need to be cleared.
Graduation Practice #1. Mandatory graduation practice. Roll will be taken.
Immediately following the checkout process all participating seniors will be transported to Beals Point at Folsom Lake for a picnic. No personal driving is allowed. Music, food, sports, etc. will be provided. The student attending this event will have access to the lake in designated swimming areas. We have hired a team of trained and certified open water Lifeguards to ensure the safety of all students who choose to go into the water.
Graduation Practice #2
Mandatory graduation practice from 7:45 am to 9:30 am. All students will meet in the gym. Roll will be taken (if you are tardy, you will not be allowed to attend that day’s senior activity).
Seniors report to the outdoor basketball courts. All seniors will be in the picture in graduation gowns (no graduation caps).. Order forms will be in the student store the week prior and again the morning of the picture.
The senior breakfast will take place at Lincoln Hills Orchard Creek Ballroom. You must have a ticket to attend this event. This is where the senior slide show will be viewed and the spoof awards will be given. Students will drive themselves and meet at Lincoln Hills no later than 10am.
Graduation Practice #3 (Graduation Track tickets will be given to seniors at grad practice this day. Each student will receive ONLY 2 track tickets, all other seating is general admission and no tickets are necessary)
This is the last practice before the ceremony. Roll will be taken and your attendance is mandatory. If you do not attend practice, you will not participate in the graduation ceremony. Students will be given their official diplomas immediately following the graduation practice. Students will receive their diploma cover when they walk across the stage at graduation.
Report to the gym
Roll will be taken. You will get in your rows and take care of any last minute issues. Enjoy every last moment!
IMPORTANT Graduation Information
Do not bring any valuables. Leave all purses, bags, etc at home or in your cars (wallets and keys are the only thing allowed). NO CELL PHONES with graduates – please leave them with family or at home.
Graduation is a formal event, and attire should reflect the importance of the occasion. Acceptable attire: collared shirt/ dress shirt/ dress slacks/ dress/ skirt. High heels must be at least the size of a quarter in diameter to protect the field. Unacceptable attire: Jeans or shorts, torn or ripped shirts or pants.
When you arrive at the large gym for check in, please do not have your gown on. You will be searched for prohibited items (cell phones, inflatable items, noise makers, etc). Any prohibited items will be held during the ceremony and returned after.
Caps cannot be decorated at all. Graduates will not be allowed to be part of the ceremony if they have altered their cap. Graduates may wear any cords, medals, or pins earned as part of a Whitney High School program. Any attire that is culturally significant is also permitted.
Sober Grad Night This event is operated by parents and community members, not school personnel. Ticket information can be found on the Whitney High School web page.
