Whitney High School

At Whitney High School, we will work together to develop a learning community that is inclusive and respectful for each and every member of this campus. Our diversity may be reflected by a myriad of social identities and life experiences.

The goal of inclusiveness encourages and appreciates expressions of different ideas, opinions, and beliefs, so that conversations and interactions that could potentially be divisive turn instead into opportunities for intellectual and personal enrichment as well as community connection. On this campus we disavow hate speech or any actions that attempt to silence, threaten, and degrade others. In celebrating the diversity of our campus, we repudiate discrimination based on culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, nation of origin, age, languages spoken, religion or absence of religion, disability, or sexual orientation.

A dedication to inclusiveness requires both respecting what others say, their right to say it, the thoughtful consideration of others' communication, and accountability for one’s actions and behavior. Both speaking up and listening are valuable tools for furthering thoughtful, enlightening dialogue.
